My mom recently left for a long trip, and I wanted to make her a small “farewell” gift that she could take with her. I wanted it to be something practical, and I remembered seeing this tutorial for a quilted kindle case awhile back. My mom recently invested in an Ipad, and I knew she’d be taking it with her, so I modified the kindle pattern (simply by getting measurements for the Ipad (thanks Liv!) and adjusting the size from the tutorial).
I used scraps from my Innocent Crush quilts, and cut 2.5 inch squares that I sewed together for a scrappy look. I also decided to use a magnetic snap for the closure. And, I found that the instructions for the tutorial were great, and even suggested a few extra stitches at the top to keep the flap from flapping up!
This was such a fun little project, I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for something to cover!
