It’s no secret that I love Hope Valley. I have used it in quite a few projects… like this, and this, and this, and this, just to name a few!
One thing I love about this line is how gorgeous the colors look when they’re arranged in order. I used this simple filmstrip layout (inspired by the quilts seen here, made by Amanda Jean, with a great tutorial here), one that I’ve definitely used before! In fact, my first filmstrip quilt served as the photo backdrop for guests at our wedding.
I’m still pondering how to back and quilt this– any suggestions?
once again, every quilt you post becomes my new favorite
I also love how HV looks when the colors are grouped together! I sort of wish I had done my queen size quilt that way. ๐
i love hope valley so much too. the colors are so beautiful and just like you said, when they are paired together they look so so stunning.
Ooooh, it is so gorgeous! I really want to make a film strip quilt now!
That is so pretty! Every time I find a bit of hope valley in my scrap bin I’m always shocked by how pretty and different it is. I kind of wish I had more than those tiny scraps left, but it would probably lose it’s allure if I did!
I’d probably back it with a coordinating print or solid with one strip of film strip piecing, or with a strip of a word in it. Shhh or sleep would be appropriate!
Gosh, that is so stunning. The way you arranged the fabrics with an eye for the colors. Really effective! What if you hand quilted around each square?
Natalie, this is fabulous! Your creations always amaze me. Can’t wait to see what you decide to do to finish it!
Love this! Such a great, fun pattern and I love the fabrics.
Beautiful!
I LOVE this. Hope Valley is one of my favorite fabric lines too, but I haven’t even cut into mine yet!
That is so lovely. You did a great job. Can’t wait to see it quilted.
Love this… its beautiful! Have you seen the tutorial at don’t call me betsy on FMQ the baptist fan pattern? I think the curves would be wonderful with the linear pattern of this quilt.
How did you not show me this quilt when I was visiting? Oh, because I would’ve stolen it for sure.
Beautiful Natalie!! I agree with the comment suggesting putting a single strip on the back… I have no ideas on quilting, I always find that really hard to think about what will look good. I’ll be interested to see what you end up doing!
