As I mentioned yesterday, I had sooo much fun at the sewing summit. One of the great things about it was all of the swag I got to bring home! I’m looking forward to trying some new thread, batting, and using other goodies I got! At the end of Jeni’s class on fabric selection, we were lucky enough to all get Kona color cards. These are so useful when trying to find solids for a project, and I love the one I already have. Now that I have 2, I thought this would be the perfect thing to share with one of you! After all, I can’t talk about how great the sewing summit was without sharing something with you all!
I found the Kona color card to be VERY helpful when working on a project such as this:
Matching all of those solid fabrics is SO much easier when you can see an actual swatch in person!
So, if you’d like to enter to win the Kona color card, leave me a comment on this post, and introduce yourself (that is, if I don’t already know you!). Say hi, tell me where you’re from or if you have a blog, or any little thing. I had so much fun meeting up with my bloggy friends this past weekend that I’d like to keep it going and get to know you all a little more!
I’ll leave the comments open until Sunday at 1pm, at which time I’ll pick a winner.
I would love to have a Kona color card. I blog at http://nostalgiccafe.blogspot.com/
Me me me! Pick me! Please!!! So glad you had an awesome time. I’m coming across the pond next year to join you 🙂
I would love to have one! I have been following your blog 🙂 I have my own little doodle…genasgarden.blogspot.com. I live in Mississippi and sew and quilt when I have the time in between work, school, kids, farm and horses 🙂
I do! I do! I want one of those color cards so bad!!! Hahaha. I have been following your blog for a while, I love it. I live in Connecticut and have my own blog. . . . . theredheadedmermaid.blogspot.com. I’m so glad you had such a great time at the sewing summit. I wanted to go, but life got in the way. Hoping to go next year if they do it again.
hello i am nicke from kisskissquilt… don’t pick me. i already have one too but i do love reading your blog and i love that quilt. it is very pretty!
I would love to have that color card, I’ve discover that I love solids! My name is Jessie and I am living in WA state but I’m from SC. I have two kids, three dogs and a very neglected blog. 🙂 I am hoping I get to go to the sewing summit next year!
That color card would be so handy-I’ve already had a few times where I ordered a color thinking it would be a match, and it was just a little off. And Kona is my solid of choice lately, so perfect!
I’m from Chicago currently, originally from Wisconsin. No blog yet, but it’s on my to-do list (right behind my list of quilts to make, bags to make, clothes to make..) How do you find time to blog and sew? Perhaps my problem is I spend too much time at work reading through blogs that my list of things to make keeps getting longer and longer.
I am loving all these posts about the Sewing Summit – although it makes me wish SO much I could have been there too 🙂 I’m Rebecca and I blog over at thevintagebicycle.blogspot.com. Thanks for the generous giveaway! I would LOVE a kona color card!
Hi I’m Linda quilting away in Montana! Sounds like the Sewing Summit was a very good time! Thanks for sharing your neat ideas+the Kona card! Happy stitching all !
I would have loved to have gone to the Sewing Summit – but I living vicariously through all the posts!! I’m Denise in PA from mylifeinquilts.blogspot.com. Thanks so much for the giveaway – I would love to have a Kona color card!!!

I’m a follower from the UK. I blog at http://www.isisjem.blogspot.com and I have loved reading all the blog posts about the sewing summit. It looks like it was a blast. I’d love a Kona colour card of my very own. Thanks for the chance!
Makes me with I’d made it to the Sewing Summit – maybe next year! I’d love that color card…how great would that be?! I’m on a solids kick lately, so knowing exactly what I’m getting would be oh-so lovely!
Hi! I’m Mary. I blog over at http://www.quiltgenius.com. 🙂

Hi! I’d love, love, love a color card. All the pictures from Sewing Summit look like it was a fantastic time. I don’t blog – not sure how I’d fit it in. Right now I have enough fun reading them. Thanks!
Hey there! i’m karen from broken arrow, Oklahoma. no blog for me. 😦 mostly because i don’t think i’m a very good story-teller. i’m more of a bullet point person & my hubs is totally the details guy. 🙂 i don’t have a kona card, but have been wanting one. i can see how they would be soooo helpful. thanks for your blog & the give-away! 🙂
The Kona color card is awesome. Thanks so much for the giveaway; I would love to be the winner.
Oh, I’d love the colour card. I’m tusen (Agnieszka) and I’m a follower of (well more of a lurker at) your blog and admirer of your flea market fancy quilt 🙂
I blog at http://quiltmaybe.blogspot.com/
ohh i would love one!,my name is Jules and i have a very new blog http://ohdearwhatvewehere.blogspot.com And at the moment i am having trouble with my sewing machine, thinking i need to upgrade. the old one keeps playing up. so anything to make life easier!. thanks for the chance.
How I have wanted a Kona Colour card. Our local quilt store just started stocking some Kona solids but they don’t even have a card to help customers make requests. And to order online without a colour card has meant I don’t use many solids in my quilts unless they’re the few that are stocked locally. I can’t afford to wing it and not get the match I want. So one of these would be fabulous!
By the way, I’m a relative beginner at this quilting thing, though I’ve been following many quilt bloggers for a long time … learning and building up the confidence to take a crack at it, which I’ve done this summer and I’ve been most pleased with my results. I have a blog … it started as a breast cancer experience blog … but since I’m still here (YEAH!) and am through the worst of the treatments … my blog has evolved into more of a diary in which I increasingly document my foray into quilting. So there’s a little bit about me. So pleased to make your acquaintance in a virtual formal way.
I’m from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada by the way.
I would love love love to have the Kona Color Card. My name is Cindy and I live in Dartmouth Nova Scotia Canada. One of these days I will attend a sewing summit! By the way, the quilt is gorgeous. I love the colors.
hi! I’m andrea, and I do have a blog (iliketoroar.blogspot.com), however, it’s more of a personal blog than a crafty blog. i just got hooked onto quilting and sewing this past winter, so i’m quite a newbie – combine that with life as a newlywed AND a grad student, and sewing time becomes quite precious to come by! i hail from central nj, but currently have planted my roots in boston. thanks for sharing your color card!!!
I have one, but if I win, I’ll have a give away on my blog, kind of a Pay It Forward.
I’m Gill from the UK and I’ve so enjoyed reading everyone’s posts about the Sewing Summit! What a great time you all had!!
I would love to win a colour card
OOOhhh!! me me me me! pick me! oh fine, I’ll still love you if you don’t 😉 It’s been great to see and hear everyone’s stories from the summit. hopefully I can save some pennies and join the festivities next year! I follow you and write about my quilting (mis)adventures at http://thepewteracorn.blogspot.com. Have you been by yet?
I was one click away from buying a color card the other day. I’d love to win yours!
Hi Natalie! So glad you had a good time in SLC. It would be great for me to win this Kona Card!! Since starting my hospital chaplain residency I’m working a variety of shifts and my work week changes all the time. Something like this color card would really help me select fabrics for my Christmas projects. Glad that you are doing well.
Eek! That is a great giveaway! How fun…okay, I am Angie, I live in Vancouver, Washington, I have a blog I haven’t done a thing with since May, but I have been sewing more lately…and I can’t wait to hear more about Sewing Summit. A bunch of people went from our quilt guild, and I know they are going to talk about it this month…and wah! I can’t go that night! So I will live vicariously through you instead!
I’m Jody from Ithaca, NY (originally from MN). I rarely have time to sew, but I have a long list of quilts I’d like to make and I love to look at other people’s projects. I stumbled upon your blog a couple of weeks ago, and I’m so happy to see your fresh, modern quilting ideas! Now I check your site daily and it has inspired me to get the sewing machine out and get going!
Hi, I am from Australia an have a blog @ http://gemini-stitches.blogspot.com/
sewing summit sounds like so much fun!!!
Hi there! I’ve been reading all the posts about Sewing Summit. Sounds wonderful! My name is Jackie and I have a blog about quilting, knitting, and stitching. I’m hoping to get into more modern quilting even though there isn’t much support for it here. I think a Kona Color Card would be so wonderful. Thank you for being so generous!
Hi, I am Penny G. I live in Northwest Florida, I have a blog – http://stitchinpenny.blogspot.com/ but it really isn’t a quilting blog and I haven’t been keeping it up as well as I should. I am retired or actually I just quit due to health reasons. I have a shingles like virus attacking the nerves in my ears and now the trigeminal nerve that controls pain responses in my face. Luckily I have great doctors (after 12 years with the ear stuff) and all of it is controlled as long as I am not stressed. My quilts are generally done for friends and family and most are bright. I do baby quilts a lot. This weekend I went 500 miles to help a friend make her first quilt which will be a very bright quilt with an appliqued dragon on it. I read your blog semi-regularly since it is on the blog roll of one of the blogs I have bookmarked. When I started I said I would fill the whole square and I just figured out it is expanding – Bye.
I would LOVE a kona color card! I have two boys – two and a few months, and 6 months old. My poor sewing machine is a bit neglected at the moment. However, I swear I will sew and use the color card a ton… just in a few months when a certain someone decides to sleep through the night! Thanks for the chance to win. heather dot nevits at gmail dot com
This is a must have I’ve been wanting for a while!
Oh my gosh, how fun! How I have loved reading about the Sewing Summit and all the fun you girls have had. I live in sunny Phoenix, AZ. I have a fun little blog where I talk about my quilty ideas and my beginner running experiences. I will be running my second marathon this weekend in San Francisco (yikes, scared!). Would be super awesome to have one of these, my timing just never seems to be right.
Hi, i’m nicole and i’ve been reading your blog for a little while now. I really love that quilt in your post and i would love to win a kona card. maybe i’ll go to the sewing summit next year.
I would love a Kona card! I am from Utah, just down the way from where the sewing summit was! I wanted to go, but have a newborn this year, so it wasn’t in the cards. I also have a blog, it gets updated less than I would like, but let’s just pretend I am sewing instead of updating it.
Ooh!
My name is Laura and I live in Michigan, my original home state. I don’t blog, but I spend a lot of my day reading other peoples blogs!
I think I would frame this in my sewing room if I won! It looks like purposeful art! I live in PA, belong to my local guild, and have to give my cat a bath today. Wish me luck with that task, LOL
sounds like the Summit was wonderful! I’d love to have a color card as I’m trying to add more solids into my quilts. I live in west Kentucky – near the National Quilt Museum and wow! if you haven’t been you should think about visiting sometime.
What a generous give away! My name is Tonni and I live in Alabama. I’m a fairly new quilter and would LOVE one of these color cards as the selection of Kona solids around here is very slim. I blog mostly about knitting, spinning and recently quilting (and every day life) and am a member of the local fiber guild.
Summit sounds like it was tons of fun. I hope to make it some time in the future. I’m a newer sewer and quilter so I’d love a color card especially since I’m loving sewing with solids lately. Thanks for the chance to win one. By the way…I live in the Los Angeles area and do keep a blog.
My name is Jane and I live in Pasadena, CA. I just started following your blog and love those Kona cottons. I don’t have a blog but love to quilt, so maybe someday soon I will join you all in blogland.
I would LOVE a Kona color card! I blog at http://lizmakesstuff.blogspot.com and I only have 19 followers 😦
oh Kona, how I love thee! thanx for the chance.
Oh wow, I have been eyeing one of those. I am a PhD student in Washington, and I taught myself to sew/quilt two years ago. I am still learning, and not very adventurous when it comes to color. I usually stick to various bundles rather than being brave. 🙂
Summit sounds like it was a blast, I hope to be able to go next year! I so need one of those cards…i blog at littlebluebirdie.com.
Glad you had such a great time at the Summit, Natalie! Sounds amazing! Great idea for the comments. I’ve had fun scrolling down and reading them. Thanks for the giveaway!
Hi Natalie. I found your post through a post or two about the sewing summit. I wish I could have gone. I have been reading all about it on bogs all week. I am Charlotte and I blog at http://grammieq.blogspot.com. I have in the last few months started using lots of Kona solids in things and would love to have a color card. Thanks.
I live in Southern California and I’d love to win a Kona color card! I don’t have a blog, but you can check out my flickr stream at http://www.flickr.com/photos/53485155@N06/
Hi I am Jenn. I live in California near Sacramento. I blog over at Jenniffier’s Sometimes creative life http://jenniffier.blogspot.com. I would love to have a kona card. I love my solids. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win. I am glad to hear you had fun at the summit.
