It’s that time again– twice a year, coinciding with the quilt market events taking place where designers and authors and everyone else involved in the quilt industry get together to introduce their new products, Amy hosts a virtual quilt festival, where anyone wanting to join in the fun can link up to share their work! Follow the link above over to Amy’s blog if you’d like to be seriously inspired.
I had trouble picking which quilt I wanted to share this time around, because I’ve really been branching out in my quilting style lately, and my projects have begun to look more like “me.” But, the one that takes the cake for me is still the first queen sized quilt I made, the one I sleep under every night– my flea market fancy quilt.
This quilt uses one of my favorite techniques of pairing prints with coordinating solids to highlight the colors in the fabric. I tend to make quilts for others and have given away many more than I’ve kept, so making this one for myself was meaningful.
And, using it every day makes me very happy, and makes Simon, my black lab/daschund mix happy too!

I just love this quilt — the colors are so cheery, and the back with the two rainbow strips is fantastic!

Oh yeah, that’s one cool quilt.
One of my all time favourites. This quilt sings,..in an Alannis Morisettee, Amy Winehouse rather than an Abba kinda way. OK I’ll shaddup, it’s Friday night school was kinda whacko this week and I’m babbling. Just had to let you know I love this one!!!!
Lovely! The solids around the prints really make this a stand out!
Wow! Such nice, bright, fun colors! I love it! I also love how you’ve photographed it: with the log cabin (really beautiful shot), with the dog. All around great job.

Point no. 1: fabulous use of color
Point no. 2: equally fabulous mix of prints and solids
Point no. 3: if eye candy were REAL candy, this would be one of those $5 boxes of candy you get at the movie theater when the guy you’re with REALLY wants to impress you
Gorgeous! Love the solids you have used with the prints!!
Absolutely lovely quilt. Love the pattern, your fabrics and all the pictures are great. Thanks for sharing and have a great day

I LOVE this quilt! The back is perfect and I just love bright quilts like this. Your photographs are beautiful too! The few quilts you keep for yourself are the special ones. I have been quilting for a little more than three years and in the many quilts I have made, I only have one finished quilt of mine at home, the rest have all been gifts so I can appreciate how much you must be enjoying this pretty quilt!!
Oh man, what a pretty quilt! It’s so colorful
