One of the quilts I made for the wedding was a filmstrip quilt. This was a gift for some of our good friends who were in the wedding (and helped us a ton with planning and preparation!).
I stuck with a blue, green, and brown palate, with a little light purple thrown in. The fabrics all just looked like they belonged together, and I had been itching to try out the filmstrip pattern as soon as I learned how to quilt.
For the back, I took a bright green and blue fabric that I had in the stash, and did a random sort of piecing in strips to get an organic look.
The quilt was hanging on the wall of the porch during the wedding reception, and served as the backdrop for many pictures.
I was pretty happy with how this one turned out– it was my first finished large quilt, and I think that someday I’ll have to make another. The only bad thing about giving away all of the quilts I made is that I now want to make exact replicas of each one for myself!

My, what a lovely quilt!
