I haven’t had much time to blog lately, but I have a backlog of projects building up I’d love to create a record of. Here’s a little preview of what is yet to come:
- Over winter break, I sold out of most of my scarves in my etsy shop, called (obviously) Greenleaf Goods. This was very exciting, as this is the first winter I’ve had my scarves for sale online. I’ve been slowly working on more, including a few new designs I am excited to introduce. As these seem to sell best in the cold months, I think I’ll work on stockpiling more in the warmer months for next year’s holiday season.
- On a new front, I have recently taken up quilting. It is something I’ve wanted to try my hand at for quite a while, and I seriously love some of the fabrics I have come across in my short time as a quilter. I’ll definitely be sharing some of my work in progress here. I find I always have something else art or craft related on my horizon– often for years– before I find the time is right to dig in and give it a try. as my earlier posts show, I spent quite a bit of time in the past couple of years mastering knitting and fiber techniques, and I am now confident I can do a bunch of tricky stuff, like making whole sweaters. I also have spent a bit of time over the last few years reconnecting with my love for ceramics, and have made us a number of new dishes. While I’d love to have time to do all of these things at the same time, my free time is limited (I don’t do this full time), so I have to be kind of choosy.
- Last but not least, J (my partner) and I are getting married this summer, and we’re planning to design and make a ton of stuff ourselves, so I’ve been hard at work in my free time trying to pull things together. We’re planning to emphasize the environmentally friendly aspects of our wedding, including our approach for food, decor, clothing, and everything else we can think of.
All in all, I have a lot of environmentally friendly, crafty, inventive things to share, and I’m looking forward to doing so here.
